At the far west end, so it's quiet. Unlike the flowery eastern gardens, it has the calm of a palace pond, walls and pine trees.

- A pond modeled on Buyongji and Eosumun at Gyeongbokgung. Many say it calms the mind
- Layered red-brick arched gates make a lovely frame
- Not crowded, so you can take photos slowly

- Where the pond and pavilion fit in one frame is the classic photo
- Look down on the garden from the viewpoint above
Good to know
- The path up to the viewpoint is short but steep
- It's far from the East Gate, so many skip it. If it's your goal, come in by the West Gate
It's quiet here, unlike the eastern gardens. Take a break by the pond.
